“Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.”
The story behind this colouring sheet
Jonah was running away from God on a boat. When a terrible storm came, Jonah told the sailors to throw him into the sea so they would be safe.
Splash! Down Jonah went into the deep, dark water. But God didn't leave him there. God sent a huge fish to swallow Jonah whole.
Inside the fish, Jonah prayed to God and said sorry. After three days and three nights, God told the fish to spit Jonah out onto dry land — and this time, Jonah did what God asked.
Talk about it
- Why was Jonah on the boat in the first place?
- What did Jonah do while he was inside the fish?
- Jonah got a second chance. Why is it good that God gives us second chances?
