A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Jesus told a story about ten bridesmaids who took lamps and waited for a wedding procession. Five were wise and brought extra oil, while five did not. The groom took a long time to arrive, and all ten fell asleep. At midnight a call announced that he was coming. The wise bridesmaids filled their lamps and went to meet him. The others had to go and buy oil, and they missed the start of the feast. Jesus told the story to encourage his followers to be ready, even when they did not know when something would happen. We can prepare for what we are responsible for and keep our promises.
